Northern Adventures:
1-Day Lake Laberge Sightseeing Trip

Click on each photo to greatly enlarge it

Lake Laberge, Yukon Territory     Explore the lake made famous by the poetry of Robert W. Service and by the part it played in the Klondike Gold Rush.

Laberge is a 50km long lake that is part of the Yukon River system (click here to see a map of the area). Visit the wreck of the sternwheeler Casca and the gold rush era cabins at Lower Laberge. This abandoned village is at the northern end of the lake where it flows into the section of river known as the Thirty Mile.

The lake is a photographer's dream! Wildlife commonly seen include grizzly and black bears, moose, caribou, wolves, eagles, hawks and loons.

Fishing is excellent - lake trout are caught both trolling and from shore.

Enjoying Lake Laberge's great beaches     The many beaches offer perfect landing spots to hike off into the beautiful wilderness that surrounds the lake. During our lunch breaks on these beaches, you can enjoy hot refreshments around a campfire. For many more photos from the Lake Laberge trips, see our large photo album.

Departure times for this trip will be tailored to work with your schedule. Generally, the day begins at 10 AM and ends at 7 PM. Transportation between Lake Laberge and Whitehorse is included at no charge.
