There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.
Enjoy your Yukon vacation in our
spacious new 4-season waterfront home
with a spectacular view over
Lake Laberge.
From your vantage point high above the lake, you can look over a vast expanse
of untouched lake and wilderness (see the panoramic photo below).
This peaceful setting is the ideal holiday getaway for those who wish to relax in comfort
and style. It is also a perfect retreat for writers, painters and photographers. A total of 6 people can be accommodated.
The bottom 2 photos to the right show the incredible view from inside the house,
in the fall and winter.
From here you can hike, bike, canoe or kayak, go on a horseback trip, or just
relax and refresh your soul.
You may well get up close to the foxes that treat us as friendly neighbours, and
a wide variety of other animals live in the area.
In the winter you will have one of the finest views of the Northern
Lights anywhere in Canada's North. An auroral display typically begins right
across the lake from the house, then expands in a sweeping arc right over it. Sometimes
they are so bright that the lake is lit up as if by a full moon (though in colour!).
You can
ski or snowshoe right from the back door, or head out on a snowmobile trip, icefishing or even
dog sledding - the possibilities are endless. See our
winter photo album for more pictures of the aurora and winter
activities.
See below for some of the features of this home, and a photo album (click
on each of the pictures below to enlarge it for more detail). There are also several links that will take you to other Web sites with more information about things to do in the area.
