    Many visitors come North to see wildlife, and then are disappointed that there aren't animals around every bend in the highway. The folks who get off the road system, back into our vast, pristine wilderness, are never disappointed. Along the lakes and rivers we travel, wildlife abounds, and whether we're traveling under the power of our whisper-quiet 4-stroke motors, canoeing in silence, or sitting on the bank absorbing the magic and mystery of one of the world's last great wilderness areas, we meet the inhabitants often. There are no words that can properly describe the experience of floating past a timber wolf walking along the river bank, totally unconcerned that you are less than 100 feet away, or of watching peregrine falcons teaching their young how to hunt.

Of particular note, each spring bald eagles come inland to the Yukon from the Alaska coast, and we seem them often (see our eagle page for more information and photos). Among the other creatures we see are loons, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, many species of waterbirds, black bears, grizzly bears, moose, caribou, mule deer, fox, wolves, and smaller animals such as marten and squirrels.
